With no less than 14 Grammy awards in the bag, Alicia Keys will perform her debut in Brazilian soil in the full heap of Rock in Rio. The show of the singer, composer and producer takes place at the Palco Mundo on the 15th of September, on the same day of the headliner, Justin Timberlake.
Inspired in musicians like Prince, Nina Simone, Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys has roots in soul vintage, with bass guitars and synthesizers strongly tied to classical piano, essence of the singer’s background and training.
This recipe transformed the singer into one of the most successful artists of her generation, accounting for over 30 million albums sold. Aside from 14 Grammy awards, she has in the bag 10 Billboard Musoc Awards and 5 American Music Awards. her voice broke through the U.S. frontiers with songs like “Fallin”, “You Don’t Know My Name”, “If I Ain’t Got You”, “No One” and “Empire State of Mind” (in partnership with Jay-Z), among others.
At the end pf 2012, Alicia Keys launched her fifth album, entitled “Girl on Fire.” The disc made its debut as # 1 on the Billboard Top 200, # 1 on the Billboard – R&B / Hip Hop albums and # 1 at the album stand Top Digital. Aside from being the best selling R&B disc of the United States, Girl on Fire also got to the top of the album stand of iTunes in 19 countries. The track that bears the same title as the album occupies the 10th positoon, with over 3 million units sold worldwide since its launch.
Known as the ” Soul Princess”, Alicia is renowned for her strong and passionate voice pitch and also for efforts in philanthropic and charitable actions worldwide, especially in the global fight against the IV virus / AIDS.
The official sale of tickets to Rock in Rio starts on April 4, 2013, at 10:00 AM, here at the festival’s site. The ticket is worth R$ 260 (full ticket) and R$ 130 (half). The tockets are delivered by mail. There is no convenience fee collected.
