A milestone in the history of Rock, Bon Jovi is the newly confirmed act at the Rock in Rio 2013. The band will close the evening of shows on September 20, as part of their “BON JOVI Because We Can – The Tour”. This will be their third appearance at the Rock in Rio festival, but their first ate the Brazilian edition.
The tour is a separate chapter. Besides the classic songs, the shows will feature a glimpse of what the fans can expect with “What About Now”, the band’s new album, with a digital release scheduled for March 11, which will hit Brazilian stores on the 19th. Their first single, “Because We Can”, reached the iTunes Top 5 in 24 countries, reaching number 1 in 12 other countries. The video for “Because We Can” was directed by the acclaimed documentary director, Fisher Stevens.
But the Bon Jovi experience does not stop here. Everything about the new release revolves around the free app available through the band’s website, which combined with the new album and shows, allows the fans for an amazing interaction with their latest content through augmented reality and recognition technology for smartphones and tablets. The new album is just another successful step in Bon Jovi’s history road; the band has played in the five continents, having performed more than 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries, for more than 35 million fans, including in the Rock in Rio Lisboa (2008 ) and Rock in Rio Madrid (2010) editions.
